We need to arrange a session for Flashmeeting from OU. I will set up the meeting on their web site but we need some common time. The meeting duration will be one hour.

For me the best time is 8Pm in the evening Monday through Thursday except wednesday. On that day due to final it has to be 8:30PM.

Let me know how is every body else's schedule as soon as possible.

All other details for the Final Learning unit are at http://www.eng.ysu.edu/~jalam/engr6923s08/

Please make sure that you have access to all web addresses provided there and also make sure about the time constraint.

The last project is 40 points and this extra work will account for the final exam in the course. Also it provides good practice on the video based conversation programs, a complete review of what we have done, along with some comic relief in the end.

Please confine all your questions, discussion and suggestions within this discussion unit.

Try the last parts when people get a hang of it on how to use it.

Thanks.

What could have happened also is that there may have been a predetermined amount of seats for the classroom and if you joined late, you did not get a seat and could only observe and not fully participate. Take it that It was the demo mode of the program.

I set the limit at 16 and there were 12 people in attendance that leaves 4 seats open. I even made meeting public and used the record option. They all worked.

My guess is that something was not right with the connection of video and microphone because they could get in and watch every body else except they could not broadcast. I will blame on the adobe/macromedia configuration manager. It should read the hardware configuration from MS Windows registry but it does not and tries to reconfigure the hardware on its own. If you miss the prompt in the beginning of program or if it does not show up and if the hardware is not properly configured user has no way to know what went wrong. That is why both Wiziq and Flash Meeting have extra option built in that allows user to check their hardware set up before they join the meeting.

It just that these options are not so obvious and one has to spend some time with the programs to figure out where they are located within the program.

The truth is this course consumed a lot of time from all of us and I personally hated it. Also i noticed myself always going back to all the sites that we created, "stumble it" sites I liked and many other things that are useful to us and under our fingertips literally.

Dr. Alam,

I made a blog on the last learning unit. It can be viewed here:

Again, thanks for everything from the class.

Dr. Alam,

I updated my Blog with all of my responses for the Final Learning Unit. Once again, Seesmic gave me problems with replying "real time" to your video, so I had to record my reply off-line and upload it to Seesmic. Anyhow, here is the link, and thanks for a great class. I really learned a lot about the internet and how to effectively use it.

This is not the place to comment. You need to do it on your blog and it is late. You are missing final video on seesmic, your comment on voice thread for final unit and I am sure that you have not completed the survey.
