Final Learning Unit

We need to arrange a session for Flashmeeting from OU. I will set up the meeting on their web site but we need some common time. The meeting duration will be one hour.

For me the best time is 8Pm in the evening Monday through Thursday except wednesday. On that day due to final it has to be 8:30PM.

Let me know how is every body else's schedule as soon as possible.

Please make sure that you have access to all web addresses provided there and also make sure about the time constraint.

The last project is 40 points and this extra work will account for the final exam in the course. Also it provides good practice on the video based conversation programs, a complete review of what we have done, along with some comic relief in the end.

If any of you had trouble in obtaining an ID or password from flash meeting web site you can still enter the virtual meeting room as Guest. It will restrict your options for participation but you will still be able to see the proceedings.

You also receive the same information through your Google calenders where it is assigned as an event.

Dr. Alam,

For the Seesmic response that is required for this last assignment (as well as the previous one), I am unable to post replies to anything on that site. For some reason, I can record through my web cam, but I am not able to post it. When I reply, it has to be through a video that I record off-line and then upload to the site. So if you look at the replies, you will not see mine, but I will list the link to my reply on my blog. Hopefully this will be acceptable. Oh ya, since I cannot record anything on Seesmic, I cannot create a video profile either.

I am not sure what the problem is/was because so far Seesmic has been very stable for me and I have done both that is to record and save a video and upload a videos from Youtube. If you had problem it could be that Seesmic server was too busy or your internet connection was dropping data.

In any case you should have uploaded a video telling your problem you are having with Seesmic. These companies are lot more responsive to their customers then the old line companies. I am sure some body from Seesmic would have answered. They watch carefully what users are doing. Even the owner of the company Loic is extremely accessible on Twitter, facebook and friendfeed.

Seesmic is no longer in beta development but he was the one who told me how to get an instant ID and password on Seesmic when I asked all of you to sign up on it and some of you were not getting the confirmations quick enough.

Some of this is the cutting edge development on the Internet in the area of communications and you will not hear about it in the mainstream media for at least few years. Basically we are moving from mass communication where we consumed media as a passive user i.e. watching TV for an average of 5 hours per day to an active player in creating our own media and internet acts as platform to provide this service.

I signed up for the site, validated my account, and received a confirmation e-mail from the site. How long does it take before we are able to log in (several hours)? I am trying to use my e-mail address and password, but I am having little success. Any ideas?

If you're getting the same error message that I posted earlier we might be out of luck. I received confirmation and activation emails on Monday and as of now the site still says I'm not validated.

I just tried logging in again to FM, and I am still getting the same notification. I'll try again tonight before the meeting, but it doesn't look good.

I don't know what I did other than sign up and wait for the validation confirmation email from FM. I was able to log in and see that there is a meeting set up for tonight. We'll see if I can fully log in tonight I guess.

I had the same problem so I tried to create a new account with a different email and still have the same problem. I can't log in.
