twitter is a new internet application that is gaining popularity among internet users.
It is micro blogging or it could be considered short messaging service (sms) same as text messaging on the cell phone. It is also Instant messaging such as AIM and AOL etc.
One can sign up for free at twitter.com to receive its service with additional features.
my ID is jalam at twitter. I found two more students from the class on it.
I think it becomes interesting when the user registers their cell phone number with the service to receive their twitter messages because then they can get all their updates as text messages on their cell phone without being at the computer terminal all the time.
This allows people to be constantly in touch with each other. Plus there is a complete record of the session at the internet.
try it and post your twitter IDs here in this section of the forum.
It is an optional exercise. Student in the class can earn extra credit by doing this exercise.
