Dear Dolly, Dear Prof. Javed Alam, thank you for your inerest related to my PhD activities. The dissertation is in Bulgaria. It consists of 4 chapters: (1) The importance of open source solutions for education; comparative analysis of 7 open source SCORM - compiant elearning systems with aim to choose one for research and development; analysis of 5 learning design tools supporting the format described in IMS LD specification; (2) Conceptual base of learning design according to EML and IMS LD specification; (3) Object-oriented analysis, design and development of Automated Learning Design system according to IMS LD and integrated in ATutor; (4) Development of SharePoint platform in context of Microsoft Peer Coaching Programme and Electronics Portal.
I explored your report, you done wonderful job! Congratulation! Neurocognitive science based Learning Theories is so interesteng and new for me! I will introduce with this aspect of learning.
The address of a paper for SharePoint environment is: http://www.tu-sofia.bg/meetings/Elec/2007/ET2007%20Book1/Education%20in%20Electronics/155-Paper-M_Ivanova1.pdf
Other paper: http://dspace.ou.nl/bitstream/1820/849/1/Paper32.pdf
This year we published 4 books as an addition part of my dissertation (in Bulgarian): http://81.161.241.210/bg/eBooks/default.aspx .
Thank you for interest again! If you have some ideas for collaboration, please be free to contact with me! Malinka

I am interested in your dissertation. I also have report here not probably as exhaustive as your dissertation dealing with elearning

The report details the activities performed during the academic year
2004-2005 as proposed in the FIL application in the area of eLearning.

http://www.eng.ysu.edu/~jalam//FIL0405/FIL/indexf.htm

Please use the table of index provided at the top left section of the page to
access the different sections of the report.

A pdf version of the report that is complete in every aspect but missing the
linked documents and resources that are accessible in the above URL, can be
found at:

http://www.eng.ysu.edu/~jalam//FIL0405/FILreportpagenumber.pdf

Since then I have basically been working on different parts of that report.

As you notice that I am running a live class here and right now the elearning theory and practice are really far apart.

I am keen to see your dissertation. Is it in Bulgarian or in English?

Thanks

Hi Malinka,
We share two common interests-
I am an Electronics Engineer too but specialise in Communications
Also, an passionately involved with using eLearning as a medium to develop human capacities in developing countries.
I am quite keen to do research on the subject to combine Knowledge and Learning with Industry.
Would be great to exchange notes.

Dear Prof. Javed Alam, I am an electronic (microelectronics is my specialization) engineer, but I teach in the area of Electronics, Microelectronics and Computer Science (resently eLearning too :)). I have just finished my dissertation which is focused on Exploration and Development of eLearning Platforms ( so I am deeply involve with the technological, pedagogical and management aspects of eLearning).
Technical University of Sofia (www.tu-sofia.bg) consists of some Departments: Faculty of Automatics
Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Technologies
Faculty of Electrical Engineering
Faculty of Power Engineering and Power Machines
Faculty of Computer Systems and Control
Faculty of Telecommunications
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Faculty of Machine Technology
Faculty of Management
Faculty of Transport
Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics and other Colleges.
One course can include: Lectures, seminars, laboratory practices, projects.
I will examine the software Maxima for numerical and symbolic math computation. When I was on my two mounts stay in Technical University of Bratislava, Slovakia, I used Genesis TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design) platform for numerical simulations of semiconductor structures. In my practice I use ORCAD for simulation and analysis of electronics schemes. In Computer Graphics we use 3DStudioMax and ToolBook Instructor.
The last year I used Multiply as eLearning platform, this year I experiment with ning: internetedu.ning.com (this is a virtual learning center for my students who study the course Introduction to Internet).
It so nice when I can possibility to comunicate with professionals from my areas! It is big pleasure for me to meet you! Malinka

Welcome Malinka.

Make your self at home. Forum topic introduction provides most of the information about the course. You will find most of the activities in forum topic 10 right now.

I read through your blog. We have same background except I am from Structural Mechanics and you are from Computer Engineering if I guessed it right.

I am not familiar with the educational system in Bulgaria. Is Technical University is the same thing as a College of Engineering? Do you have same programs as in USA?

Thanks for the introduction on your e-learning ning.

My course on the "computational tools is at

http://www.eng.ysu.edu/~jalam/engr6924s07/

Since, you are from Engineering I thought you might be interested. I am using mostly an open source program Maxima for numerical and symbolic math computation.
